Eastern Africa University Sports Federation holds Elective General Assembly

KIGALI - The Eastern Africa University Sports Federation (EAUSF) held its Elective General Assembly on 20May, 2016 at the main auditorium of the University of Rwanda – College of Business in Kigali Rwanda.


The meeting of one of Africa’s 5 Zonal University Sports Federations. Opening the Assembly, the head of the Host NUSF, Mr. Albert Kayiranga thanked members Eastern Africa for turning up in his beautiful country and wished them great deliberations.


FISU Assessor and FASU Secretary General Peninnah Aligawesa Kabenge was joined by FASU 2nd Vice president Jacob Stanley Nteere to appreciate the work the Zonal federation has done to promote university sports and encouraged them to keep up the spirit. While donating FISU Flags to Member NUSFs and EAUSF, they encouraged the receivers to display these flags at all their events but at the same time aspire to keep participating in the continental and international sports events.


Mr. Cyriaco Kabagembe, the dean of students at Makerere University, and incumbent president retained his position unopposed, as well as the General Secretary Dr. Simon Munayi from the University of Nairobi.

The Assembly also amended the constitution to include two students (one male & one female) to the executive.

The New leadership shall serve a four year term until 2020.
